Pion Scattering Length from Two - Pion Wave Function ∗
We present a preliminary report on a calculation of scattering length for I = 2 S-wave two-pion system directly from the two-pion wave function. Results are compared with those calculated from the time dependence of twopion four-point functions. Calculations are made with an RG-improved action for gluons and improved Wilson action for quarks at a−1 = 1.207(12) GeV on 20 × 48 and 24 × 48 lattices.
متن کاملPion - Pion Scattering Information
We show how the reaction e-e’+ n-n’y can be used to study the dipion system in states of even charge conjugation (and even angular momentum). In particular, its utility for experimentally investigating an I = 0, J = 0 resonance (e-meson) is discussed in detail. (Submitted to Phys. Rev. ) * Work supported by the U. S. متن کاملThe S-Wave Pion-Nucleon Scattering Lengths from Pionic Atoms using Effective Field Theory
The pion-deuteron scattering length is computed to next-to-next-to-leading order in baryon chiral perturbation theory. A modified power-counting is then formulated which properly accounts for infrared enhancements engendered by the large size of the deuteron, as compared to the pion Compton wavelength. We use the precise experimental value of the real part of the pion-deuteron scattering length...
متن کاملThe S Wave Pion Deuteron Scattering Length in Effective Field Theory
The S wave pion deuteron scattering length is presented at NLO in the Effective Field Theory formulation of the two nucleon system with perturbative pions. At this order, this observable is determined by the iso-scalar S wave pion nucleon scattering length a+, by pion re-scattering contributions inside the deuteron and by two nucleon two pion contact interactions that involve two unknown parame...
متن کاملRegge Analysis of Pion-pion (and Pion-kaon) Scattering for Energy S
We perform a detailed Regge analysis of NN , πN and ππ scattering. From it, we find expressions that represent the ππ scattering amplitudes with an accuracy of a few percent, for exchange of isospin zero, and ∼ 15% for exchange of isospin 1, and this for energies s > 1.4GeV and for momentum transfers |t| < ∼ 0.4GeV. These Regge formulas are perfectly compatible with the low energy (s ∼ 1.4GeV) ...
